Why IPTV Canada

Why IPTV Canada is replacing cable in so many homes

Canadian households are moving their TV to the internet for a simple reason: the internet connection is already paid for, so the cable package on top of it starts to look like paying twice. IPTV Canada keeps the parts people like about cable, live channels and a TV guide, and drops the rented box, the contract and the yearly price increase.

  1. Pay a fraction of a cable bill

The 12-month plan costs $78 CAD, about $6.50 a month for one screen. No box rental, no installation fee and no promo price that jumps after a year.

  2. Every screen in the house

One login covers up to 5 screens at once: the game in the living room, cartoons in the kids room, news on a phone in the kitchen.

  3. Canadian, French and world channels together

English and French Canadian channels, US networks and channels in more than 20 languages sit in one list, so nobody in the family needs a second service.

  4. No contract, ever

You pay once for the months you want. Nothing renews by itself, and you can stop at the end of any plan without a phone call.

  5. Test it before you pay

Every new household gets 24 hours free, with every channel and the whole library, on the TV and internet you really use. No card is asked for.

  6. People who answer, in both languages

Live Chat in English or French every day of the week, and a 7-day refund policy for new customers if the service does not suit your home.

How it works

Three steps from order to watching

Activation usually takes 15 to 30 minutes during support hours and setup about 10 minutes, so a payment sent in the evening can be on your TV within the hour.

  1. Minute 0

    Choose your plan

Pick 1, 3, 6 or 12 months and the number of screens. Choose Full Channels or English Channels Only.

  2. Minute 2

    Send your Interac e-Transfer

The checkout shows where to send it and the order number to type in the message. It takes about two minutes from your bank app.

  3. 15 to 30 minutes later

    Get your login and watch

We send the login by email and Live Chat, typically 15 to 30 minutes after the payment lands. Follow the setup guide for your device.

Devices

Watch IPTV on the devices you already own

King IPTV works on the TVs, streaming sticks, boxes and phones found in most Canadian homes. Nothing to buy and nothing to rent. Pick your device below for a setup guide that names every button, and expect to be watching in about 10 minutes.

Buying a Fire TV Stick this year? Amazon’s newest sticks, the 4K Select and the 2026 HD model, run Vega OS, which installs apps from Amazon’s own store only, and many IPTV players are not there. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max still runs Fire OS and takes any player through the Downloader app. Our device comparison explains the difference.

Thinking of buying a streaming box first? Our IPTV box guide for Canada compares Fire TV, Google TV, Formuler, BuzzTV and MAG boxes, and explains why to avoid "fully loaded" boxes.

The TV guide comes with every plan

Every channel shows what is on now and next, in your own time zone, and channels that support catch-up let you replay recent programs from the guide. The sample evening here is drawn the way the guide looks in a player app such as TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro.

King IPTV vs cable vs satellite in Canada

Canadians have been leaving traditional TV for more than a decade, and the public numbers show how far the shift has gone. Below them, the same evening of TV compared across the three ways it can reach your home.

The switch from cable, in public numbers

Under CRTC rules, every cable and satellite company has had to offer an entry-level package of no more than $25 a month since March 2016, equipment not included (Broadcasting Regulatory Policy CRTC 2015-96). Packages with sports cost more, so your own bill is the best comparison; our year-of-TV cost breakdown walks through it line by line.

How much would you keep in a year?

Type in what you pay for TV today. The calculator compares twelve months of that bill with a 12-month King IPTV plan for the same number of screens.

What you keep in a year

$1,062 CAD

Compared with a 12-month King IPTV plan for 1 screen ($78 CAD). That is about $89 back in your pocket every month.

The calculation uses your monthly bill times 12, minus the price of a 12-month King IPTV plan for the number of screens you pick. Taxes, box rental and installation fees from your current provider are not counted, so most homes save a little more than shown.

Six time zones, one login

What time does the game start where you live?

Canada spans six time zones, and a live game happens at one moment everywhere, so the same puck drop or kickoff lands at a different hour in every province. Your King IPTV guide shows listings on your own clock; this table shows what that means for a game that starts at 7:00 p.m. in Toronto.

A game that starts at 7:00 p.m. Eastern, on the clock where you live. Times computed from each zone’s UTC offset; most of each province follows the zone shown.

British Columbia (no clock change from Nov. 2026)Vancouver, Surrey, Victoria5:00 p.m.4:00 p.m.

Time zones: National Research Council Canada, Canada’s official time. British Columbia: Government of B.C., permanent Pacific time (March 2, 2026). A few communities near provincial borders keep a neighbouring zone.

What changes in British Columbia this winter

On November 1, 2026, when clocks normally go back, British Columbia keeps them where they are: the province now stays on UTC−7 all year. From November to March, Vancouver shares Calgary’s clock and sits two hours behind Toronto instead of three; from March, when most of the country moves its clocks ahead, the gap is three hours again. Most of Saskatchewan does not change its clocks either, so its gap with Toronto also grows in summer, from one hour to two.

Missed it live? Catch-up follows your clock too

On channels that support catch-up, recent programs can be replayed from the TV guide, so a 4:00 p.m. game in Vancouver can still be watched from the start after work: open the channel, step back to the program and press play. Our TV guide troubleshooting article shows how to fix a guide that is an hour or more off.

Before you switch

Is your internet fast enough for IPTV?

Speed matters less than most people think, and stability matters more. A Full HD channel needs about 10 Mbps and a 4K channel about 25 Mbps. A wired TV, with an Ethernet cable running to the modem, usually beats a faster plan on weak Wi-Fi two floors away.

Most Canadian homes already have the speed. In 2024, 97.4% of households could get 50/10 Mbps service (87.4% in rural areas), and the median download speed in CIRA’s Internet Performance Test reached 92 Mbps. That carries about nine Full HD screens, or three in 4K, at the speeds planned here.

  • Use Ethernet for your main TV, or a mesh Wi-Fi point near it
  • Restart your modem once a week if your provider allows it
  • Close downloads on other devices during big games
  • Rural and satellite internet with data caps is often not a good fit for IPTV

Enter how many screens in your home watch at the same time:

Internet speed to aim for

15 Mbps

Nearly every home internet plan in Canada handles this.

How we work it out: 5 Mbps for each HD screen, 10 Mbps for each Full HD screen, 25 Mbps for each 4K screen, then 5 Mbps extra so phones and laptops in the house do not slow the TV down.

How much data does IPTV use?

On an unlimited plan this never matters. On a capped plan, common with rural fixed wireless, satellite and phone hotspots, it decides whether IPTV fits at all. Each megabit per second held for an hour moves 0.45 GB, so the table uses the full speed we plan for each picture quality. Most streams use less, which makes these upper limits.

Upper limits, worked out from the speed planned for each picture quality (1 Mbps for one hour = 0.45 GB). Real streams usually use less.

Families

Why King IPTV works well for kids and families

In many Canadian homes the kids watch on a tablet as often as on the big TV, and in both official languages. One King IPTV subscription covers both. Cartoons, learning shows and family movies play on the big TV or a tablet in whichever language the kids prefer, and a parental PIN keeps adult channels locked.

  • Cartoons and kids shows in both official languages
  • Lock adult channels with a PIN in TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro
  • A separate screen for the kids room on multi-screen plans
  • Family movies on demand, ready for Friday night

Choosing a provider

How to judge any IPTV provider in Canada

The four checks that matter, and how King IPTV answers them

For most Canadian homes, the best IPTV service is the one that bills in CAD, takes payment by Interac e-Transfer, offers a no-cost trial on your own TV, and has people answering support in your language and time zone. King IPTV checks all four boxes: a library of 190,000+ on-demand titles next to 50,000+ live channels, prices starting at $18 CAD, a trial lasting 24 hours, and bilingual help every day of the week.

Whichever IPTV provider you are considering, run the same test: watch during the busiest hour of your evening, try a live game, open the TV guide and check that it shows your local time. If all of that works on your own internet, the service will work the rest of the week. Our best IPTV Canada checklist lists every test.

FAQ

IPTV Canada: questions people ask before switching

Short answers to what people ask before they cancel cable, from the team that runs King IPTV support.

What is IPTV, and how does King IPTV work?

IPTV means Internet Protocol Television: live TV and on-demand shows delivered through your home internet instead of a cable line or a satellite dish. With King IPTV you add a free player app to the screen you watch on, enter the login we email you, and the channel list and TV guide fill in by themselves. No box is rented, nobody comes to your home, and the same login works anywhere in Canada.

How much does an IPTV subscription cost in Canada?

A King IPTV subscription costs $18 CAD for one month, $28 for 3 months, $48 for 6 months and $78 for 12 months, for one screen. Divide the 12-month price by twelve and you pay about $6.50 a month. Adding screens costs a little more, and each plan is a single payment in Canadian dollars. See all plans and prices.

Can I try King IPTV for free before I pay?

Yes. Every new household gets one free trial lasting 24 hours, and it includes every channel plus the whole on-demand library. Run it on the TV you really use, at the hour you normally watch. No card and no payment are needed, and nothing is charged when the trial ends. Request your free trial or ask in Live Chat.

Which devices work with King IPTV?

Amazon Fire TV Stick, Android TV and Google TV boxes, Samsung, LG and Hisense Smart TVs, Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Windows PCs, Macs, MAG and Formuler boxes. Roku has no IPTV player of its own, so Roku owners usually cast from a phone. Each device has a step-by-step setup guide.

Is there an IPTV service near me?

Anywhere in Canada, yes. King IPTV arrives over your internet connection, so there is no store to visit, no technician and no box to rent: the same login works in St. John's, Saskatoon or Victoria. Local stations cover the big cities, and the TV guide follows your time zone. See IPTV by province and city, or ask Live Chat about a channel before you order.

What internet speed do I need for IPTV in HD and 4K?

Plan on roughly 10 Mbps per Full HD stream and 25 Mbps per 4K stream, then leave some spare capacity for phones and laptops. A home with two HD TVs and one 4K TV is comfortable on 50 to 75 Mbps. Most cable and fibre plans in Canada are faster than that. The calculator on this page does the math for your home.

How do I pay with Interac e-Transfer?

Pick a plan and fill in your name, email and phone. The checkout then shows the email address that receives the e-Transfer, the exact amount, and an order number to put in the message field. Open your bank app and send it like any e-Transfer to a friend. Your card details never touch our website. One thing to know: once an e-Transfer is deposited, it cannot be disputed the way a credit card charge can. That is why we ask you to run the free trial first, and why new customers also have our 7-day refund policy.

How fast do I get my login after paying?

Most orders are active within 15 to 30 minutes once the e-Transfer arrives during support hours (every day from 9 a.m. to midnight Eastern). We send your username, password and server address by email and in Live Chat. Payments that land overnight are activated as soon as the team starts the next morning.

Can I watch on more than one TV at the same time?

Yes. Choose 1 to 5 screens when you order, and that many devices can play at the same moment. The app can sit on as many devices as you like; the limit is only on how many play at the same moment. To add a screen later, choose the higher screen count when you renew and we upgrade the same account.

Do you have French channels for Quebec?

Yes. The Full Channels package includes French-language news, sports, variety and kids channels, plus French movies and series on demand. Our support team also answers in French. If you only want English channels, pick the shorter English Channels Only list at checkout to make browsing faster.

Is IPTV legal in Canada?

IPTV is simply a way of delivering video over the internet, and using it is legal in Canada; several large Canadian TV companies send their own service this way. What matters under the law is whether the content is shared with the permission of the people who own it. King IPTV does not host or store any content, and each customer is responsible for following the laws where they live. Read our legal disclaimer.

Does my plan renew automatically when it ends?

No. Each plan is a single payment for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, and nothing renews on its own, because an Interac e-Transfer can only be sent by you. A few days before your plan ends we remind you, and you decide whether to renew. New customers are also covered by a 7-day refund policy.

What should I do if a channel freezes or buffers?

Restart the app first, then restart your modem and TV device. Plug the TV into the modem with an Ethernet cable if you can, since Wi-Fi is the most common cause of freezing. If one channel still stutters, message us in Live Chat with the channel name: we can move your account to a backup stream or another server within minutes.
