Xtream Codes IPTV Login Explained: Server URL, Ports and Errors
Three short fields replace one long link. Here is what the server URL, port, username and password each do, and the exact reason most Xtream logins are rejected.

An Xtream Codes login is the three-field way to add an IPTV service to a player app: server URL, username and password. Almost every modern IPTV app accepts it, and it is far shorter to type than a playlist link. The one fact worth memorising: the server URL is a host and a port, and nothing else. No folder, no get.php, no slash at the end.
Below you will find what each field does and which port numbers are normal. There is also a table that turns each error message into a cause and a fix. For a device-by-device walkthrough, start at the King IPTV setup guides. If you came looking for the comparison instead, read M3U playlist vs Xtream Codes.
What is an Xtream Codes login?
An Xtream Codes login is a set of three details your IPTV provider sends you: a server URL, a username and a password. Your app uses them to ask the provider's server for channels, movies, series and the TV guide, one section at a time, instead of downloading a single long playlist.
| Field | What it looks like | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Server URL (also shown as host, portal, DNS or just URL) | http://example-server.com:8080 | Points the app at the provider's server. Host and port only. |
| Username | kng4821ab | Names your line. Capital and small letters matter. |
| Password | 7Hn2xQp9 | Proves the line is yours. Capital and small letters matter. |
| Profile or playlist name | Living room TV | A label you invent. It changes nothing on the server. |
Behind the screen, the app calls a file on that address, usually named player_api.php. The answer comes back as data: category names, channel IDs, poster art, your expiry date and how many screens the line allows. That is why an Xtream login feels tidier than a playlist in the same app.
One honest limit: the three fields are no use in a player that only reads playlists. VLC on a laptop and Smart IPTV on Samsung and LG sets both want an M3U link, so keep yours saved somewhere safe.
Why does an Xtream server URL need a port number?
An Xtream server URL needs a port because the provider's panel rarely answers on the default web port. The port tells your app which door to knock on. Leave it out and the app quietly tries port 80, reaches nothing at all, and shows the same message it would show for a wrong password.
If the parts of a web address have never quite made sense, the MDN explainer on URLs is worth a minute. Mozilla's MDN Web Docs sums up the port in one line: "The port indicates the technical “gate” used to access the resources on the web server."
| Port | What it usually means | How to write the address |
|---|---|---|
| 80 | The default web port. Many providers leave it out entirely. | http://example-server.com |
| 8080, 8000, 8880 | Spare HTTP ports, the most common choice for IPTV panels. | http://example-server.com:8080 |
| 2052, 2082, 2086, 2095 | HTTP ports a domain behind Cloudflare is allowed to use. | http://example-server.com:2082 |
| 443 | The default HTTPS port. The address must start with https. | https://example-server.com:443 |
| 2053, 2083, 2087, 2096, 8443 | HTTPS ports behind Cloudflare. | https://example-server.com:2083 |
| 25461 | A high port some older panels still use. The first to be blocked on work, hotel or campus Wi-Fi. | http://example-server.com:25461 |
Those odd numbers are not random. Cloudflare only passes web traffic on a fixed set of ports, and its published list of proxied network ports is exactly where 2082, 2095 and 8443 come from. Providers that sit behind Cloudflare have to pick from that list.
How do you type an Xtream Codes login without mistakes?
Type an Xtream Codes login slowly, one field at a time, and read it back before you press Next. Most rejected logins come down to a single wrong character rather than a broken account. Capital letters matter in the username and the password, and a space on the end counts as a character.
- Watch the four lookalike pairs. Zero and capital O, the number 1 and small L, 5 and capital S, 8 and capital B. Providers avoid them where they can, but not always.
- Turn off auto-capitals. Phone and TV keyboards often capitalise the first letter of a field by themselves, which breaks a lowercase username.
- Kill trailing spaces. Copying from an email picks up the space after the word. Press the right arrow to the end of the field and delete anything past the last character.
- Never paste the M3U link into the server box. It fails with a credentials error that looks nothing like the real problem.
- Use a proper keyboard. Pair a Bluetooth or USB keyboard with the box, or use the phone remote app for your TV platform. Both beat a directional pad.
- Check the expiry date after you get in. Most apps show it on the account screen, which saves guessing later.
If you are still setting things up and nothing is loading, it helps to test the details on a phone first, where typing is easy. A free 24-hour King IPTV trial gives you a working set of Xtream details to practise with before any money changes hands.
Where do you enter Xtream Codes in each app?
Every app puts the Xtream fields behind a slightly different menu, though the wording stays close. Look for an option with the words Xtream Codes or API in it, and ignore any option asking for a playlist link. The table below shows where to look in the apps Canadian households use most.
| App | What to choose | What the fields are called |
|---|---|---|
| IPTV Smarters Pro and Smarters Player Lite | Login with Xtream Codes API | Any Name, Username, Password, URL |
| TiviMate | Add playlist, then Xtream Codes | Playlist name, Server URL, Username, Password |
| IBO Player Pro (Samsung, LG) | Xtream Codes API, added on the activation website | Playlist name, URL, Username, Password |
| Smart IPTV on Samsung and LG | Not supported: upload the M3U link instead | Playlist URL only |
| MYTVOnline on Formuler | Content Sources, then the Xtream option | Portal name, URL, Username, Password |
| VLC media player | Not supported: open the M3U link instead | Network stream URL |
Our TiviMate setup guide and IPTV Smarters Pro setup guide walk through the screens in order, with the button names at each step. MAG boxes and some Formuler setups use a portal address tied to the box's MAC address rather than a username, which the MAG and Formuler guide covers.
Why does my Xtream Codes login fail?
Xtream Codes logins fail for five ordinary reasons: a typo, a server URL with something written after the port, a blocked port, an expired line, or a screen limit already in use. The error message rarely names the real cause, so work down the table below in order rather than guessing.
| What the app shows | Most likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Invalid credentials, or Wrong username or password | A typo, or the subscription has run out | Retype all three fields, then ask support to check the expiry date |
| Failed to authorize | The server URL has a path or a slash after the port | Cut everything after the port, including /get.php and the question mark |
| Could not connect, or Network error | The port is blocked on your network, or the address changed | Test the same login on mobile data; ask support for the HTTPS address |
| Login accepted, zero channels | The app kept an old cached list, or the line sits on another package | Delete the playlist and add it again rather than refreshing |
| Maximum connections reached | Your screen limit is already being used somewhere | Close the stream on another device, or add screens to the plan |
| Channels play, the guide is blank | The EPG has not downloaded yet | Force an EPG update in settings and wait a few minutes |
Two of those are worth testing in a specific order. Try the login on a phone using mobile data: if it works there and not on home Wi-Fi, the problem is your network or router, not the account. If it fails everywhere, send a photo of the screen to King IPTV Live Chat and the team can read the exact wording and check the line from their side.
Where does the name Xtream Codes come from?
Xtream Codes was the name of a software company whose panel let providers run and sell IPTV lines. Italian financial police shut the platform down in September 2019 as part of a six-country European operation. The name stuck as a label for the login style, and later panels copied the same way of talking to apps.
The story did not end there. TorrentFreak reported in June 2022 that the Court of Appeals of Naples found no evidence that Xtream Codes Ltd had acted illegally, and that seized assets were ordered returned.
None of this changes anything on your TV. Today "Xtream Codes" simply describes a login shape that dozens of unrelated panels use. This is background, not legal advice: whether any given service is lawful depends on the rights behind its channels, not on the format of the login.
How many devices can use one Xtream Codes login?
One Xtream Codes login can sit in as many apps and devices as you like. What counts is how many streams play at the same moment. That number is your screen limit, fixed by the plan you bought. Start one stream too many and the newest device gets refused.
So the same login can sit on the living room TV, a bedroom Fire TV Stick and a phone. With a one-screen plan, only one of them may play at a time. King IPTV plans run from 1 to 5 screens, and the subscription page lists every price in CAD:
| Screens at once | 1 Month | 3 Months | 6 Months | 12 Months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 screen | $18 | $28 | $48 | $78 |
| 2 screens | $28 | $48 | $78 | $128 |
| 3 screens | $38 | $68 | $108 | $178 |
| 4 screens | $48 | $88 | $138 | $228 |
| 5 screens | $58 | $108 | $168 | $278 |
Payment is one Interac e-Transfer in Canadian dollars, with no card on file and no automatic renewal. Adding a screen later does not change your Xtream details: the username and password stay the same, and only the allowed number of streams moves up.
How King IPTV sends your Xtream Codes details
King IPTV emails the full set of login details once your payment lands, and posts the same details in Live Chat if you prefer. Activation usually takes 15 to 30 minutes during support hours (every day from 9 a.m. to midnight Eastern). What arrives:
- Server URL, written with the protocol and the port, ready to copy exactly as it appears.
- Username and password for the Xtream Codes screen in any app.
- An M3U playlist link, as a backup for playlist-only players.
- An EPG (XMLTV) link, for the few apps that still want the guide added by hand.
- Your expiry date and screen count, so you can check them against what the app reports.
King IPTV is not the right fit for everyone. On a connection under about 25 Mbps, or on satellite internet with a monthly data cap, live TV in HD will struggle no matter how clean your login is. Try the free trial on your own internet first and judge from that, rather than from a speed test alone.
Reader questions
What is Xtream IPTV?
Xtream IPTV is a short way of saying an IPTV service you log into with Xtream Codes details. No company, app or channel list is called Xtream IPTV. The phrase describes the login only: a server URL, a username and a password, typed into a player such as TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro. The channels come from your provider, never from Xtream itself.
Where do I find my Xtream Codes server URL?
Your provider sends it. Open the welcome email or chat message you got when the line was activated, and look for a field labelled server, host, URL, portal or DNS. If all you have is an M3U link, the server URL is the part before /get.php, including the port number. Ask support to confirm it if the login still gets rejected.
What port should I use for my Xtream Codes login?
Use the exact port your provider gave you. Common ones are 80, 8080, 2082, 2095 and 25461 for plain HTTP, plus 443, 2053, 2083 and 8443 for HTTPS. Guessing wastes time, because a wrong port produces the same message as a wrong password in most apps. If your network blocks the port, ask support whether your line has an HTTPS address.
Why does my Xtream Codes login say the credentials are wrong when they are right?
Usually the server URL is at fault, not the username. Apps show one error for every failure, so a path after the port, a missing http://, a slash at the end or a blocked port all read as bad credentials. Delete the profile, retype the three fields slowly, and check for a space at the end of each one before trying again.
Is Xtream Codes an app I have to download?
No. Xtream Codes is a login format, not an app. You install a player such as TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro, Smarters Player Lite or IBO Player Pro, then type your details into it. Treat any site offering an "Xtream Codes app", free codes or a shared login with suspicion: those logins stop working within days and the download comes from nobody you can check.
Does an Xtream Codes login bring the TV guide with it?
Usually yes. With an Xtream login, most apps fetch the guide from the server on their own, so there is no XMLTV link to paste. If the guide stays empty once the channels load, force an EPG update in the app settings and give it a few minutes. Our guide to fixing a blank IPTV TV guide covers the stubborn cases.
